Ready or not...

If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything is ready, we shall never begin.

The Last Pumpkin

Large grey fabric pumpkin

Today really felt like the end of Fall. For the past few months we've been in that transitional stage where we have one foot in Fall and the other in Christmas. But since today we sold the last of the pumpkins, I thought I'd post a picture and officially put and end to our season.  Bring on Christmas!!

The Tree of Life

They warned me at the video store not to rent this movie. That it was painfully slow. Boring!
I rented it anyway, and will never listen to suggestions at the video store again. It was like 'the ghost of Christmas past' dragged me through my childhood, with stops to look at everything I love about the world... and I can't wait to watch it again.

A Day in the Country

A Day in the Country
Antiques & Vintage Sale
Saturday Nov.19th 10am-4pm
and Sunday Nov.20th 10am-4pm

903 Haldibrook Road, Caledonia, Ontario

I have been wanting to do a post about our friend Kim Davies for a while
now...if you know her, you know that she has great taste, and always has an amazing selection of antique and vintage furniture and objects, antique grainsacks, linen and upholstery etc. ... So, since she and a few other friends are having A Day in the Country Antiques & Vintage Sale this coming weekend,  I thought that it was finally time I got around to mentioning her. Hope some of you can make it to Caledonia this weekend. You'll be glad you did.

For her website tatteredandtorn.ca, show and contact info, click here.
A couple of photos of Kim's previous home, including a paper tree below made by yours truly.

Humbug!

sold
Since tonight is the start of our Open House, I thought I'd give a sneak peek of my new Scrooge for this year. I only did a few this year, and some are already pre-sold, but there will be a couple of them for sale only at the Open House. As you can see, this year I did him in a grubby nightshirt and nightcap, on tiptoes and peering over his shoulder with a candle in hand. I'm happy with how they turned out, but I love anything to do with Scrooge, or Dickens for that matter.
Hope to see some of you this weekend!
